Inline Lever/Lever
A lever handle is a modern door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement doors. This style of handle is available in many styles and finishes. This handle is offered by several manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The uPVC/Composite handles are made from durable materials, and are ideal for doors with multiple points that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline and they utilize the same spindle and screws to fix them. They are easily fitted on new or existing uPVC/Composite door.
The sprung lever design allows the handle to be set and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles. This helps to ensure that the quality of finish and performance over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shorter lever is an excellent option for doors where the latch can be operated by a thumb turn inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently from lever-type handles on doors. These handles can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC doors with double glazed windows handles glazing and come in a range of finishes and variations.
The handles have been tested to at least 200,000 cycles and are available in several finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.
All UPVC levers for handles include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is usually a benefit when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles hanging out of the horizontal position when they are not in use.
When selecting a replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement can also be referred to as ‘handle centres or cylinder centres’. It is important to match the correct handles.
Once you have decided on the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must make sure that the push and lever pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. These are usually round or square with an internal lever and an external door handles and locks push pad.
Most of the UPVC lever pads we offer are sprung, which means that they return to their horizontal position after not being used, instead of hanging out and potentially sticking in the frame. This prevents drafts and cold air from entering a property. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed models which allows them to be put on either side of doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other types of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder that then reveals pins which can be aligned to those in the lock body, allow them to rotate the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal bi-fold doors handle (atmlist80.bravejournal.net) require different levels of security.
Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is vitally important; this is dependent on how your doors and handles are used. For example, external doors must be secured with a more secure cylinder while doors inside can be secured using a standard cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can increase security, such as anti-drill or anti bump properties.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. If you cannot measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. It is important to avoid having a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.
Most modern cylinders are made with bump and anti-drill features that are built into their design. These features are designed to minimize the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in the opposite direction. This will help deflect the attack, and ensure your door is secure.
There are cylinders that have been designed to withstand snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and more convenient method of gaining access than a multipoint locking window handles system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which can delay insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is positioned inside the base of your door handle backplate providing a sprung solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after use. The handles had no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple feature is among the best methods to correct this, and is a great way to prevent your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in the open or closed position, since they aren’t always easy to close manually.
These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a spring multipoint lock. They will not fit handles that are not sprung, and you will have to cut a hole in the backplate to allow them to fit. (Please see the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes in the door handle backplate of many kinds of uPVC doors. They have a square cut-out that allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set.
